Hello guys,

I was updating my phone today with Sony PC Companion 2.1 and the update failed. It then asked me to disconnect the cable and plug it back in while holding the volume down button. However, this didn't work for some reason and now my phone won't turn on do anything at all.

I tried to turn it off using the button on the back of the phone but that didn't seem to help. I also tried to use Update Service but it tells me to plug in the cable while holding volume down and that doesn't work. I've tried holding volume up but that does nothing either. Nothing happens. I charged it for an hour and the battery was over 50% before the update. So for some reason holding volume down/up while turning it on or plugging the cable in doesn't work.

Can anyone help me?

In short: Holding down the volume down button while plugging in my usb cable to enter flash mode doesn't work and that's needed for restoring my device.

Yes, I have tried multiple times to plug in the usb cable in my computer, then the cable into my phone while holding volume down when it tells me to but nothing happens. I have tried different computers.

Phone in the boot loop

Did all the mentioned troubleshooting.

In fact installed the android update once again which took me 6 hours with that 800MB download of android and brought the phone to life with 100 apps installed from google play. After doing all that phone automatically switched off and went into boot loop. Fed up like this is worse than dying. After wasting entire weekends behind this thing am literally into tears.

SONY customer care and email and service centres all are useless in this issue.. The service centre people want the phone to be kept there for 15 days.

Am one of those who was completely loyal to Sony from past 5 years. This hard experience when i needed the phone the most in life is changing my perception.

Cant write more. 😞

Try another repair using sony update service:

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/

But I would suggest not restoring all your apps, because there might be the problem.
