Read here,it should make your experience with movies,photos a lot better if you let bravia engine on.But you could save battery without it,.

Personally I think the display looks better with it switched off. The sharpness filter and contrast algorithm look really unnatural to me.

Most likely if you cant find the difference of contrast and sharpness of the colors are color blind. Hehe

It looks unnatural but who cares it looks good. BE2 Makes colors more vivid(more color saturation) and increases contrast also filters sharpness. If you watch your tv in vivid mode then BE2 is just for you if not then forget it. BE2 kicks in faster in the new album update for Xperia z series. (not officially released for sp but one can always sideload)
