Problems making phone calls

Hi everybody. I've bought my phone ten days ago and I've installed all the software update with Sony Update Service and/or PC Companion. When I make a phone call the screen goes black after 30 sec (in Display settings) and wont light up again until the call is finished. So if I had to tap any numbers I can't do it. I had to wait that phone call finish then push the button on the right side to go to home page. This is not a good functioning. Please help me!! Thank's in advance

You should go for a software repair with the same programs.You know that while in a call,if the proximity sensor is covered,the screen is shut down,right?

I know, It should shut down when i move it near my ear (All smartphones have this function if i'm not wrong). Does this sony xperia doesn't have this option or there's a way to make it work?

Test your proximity sensor, there might be something covering, a protecting film, case or grime, etc

Dial *#*#7378423#*#*,service tests,proximity switch.See if when you cover it,you get yes.If you get yes all the time,there is something wrong with it.

I tried to do the test and it looks OK. The proximity test, at the start, was off, then, when I approach my finger to the phone it says ON. Now I make a test call to see if it actually works...

It doesn't work, and now i can't do anything because the screen is completely black, even if i can still hear the voice of the secretariat saying if I want to send an oral text or retry to call etc. What is this problem due to?

The screen turning off completely has been seen in other xperia devices.Attempt a repair with sony update service or take the phone into service.

hi, i have the same problem, i try to make proximity switch test ans it says always yes, everything i make. what can i do?

i also tried to remove protective film.

Hi, proximity switch definitively dead. I brought my cell phone to the service center sony...

Done! Sony Service returned me the phone in only one week. Everything ok now it works well. Bye
