Bluetooth notification discoverability

A few days ago I wanted to show my dad how to pair via bluetooth, so I tapped my phones name in the bluetooth settings menu to make it visible. Since then I constantly get the annoying notification : "You are now discoverable by your friends". Does anyone know what causes this, and most of all, how to get rid of it?? Tried all the logical things; restart my phone, switch off and on again my bluetooth, switch off bluetooth and turn off phone for the entire night, change time-out for visibility. I'm running out of ideas. Please help...

Try settings-apps-all-bluetooth share,force stop and clear data.

How about force turn off the device?

Mmm, I seem to have found the problem. Since the notification only apeared with the bluetooth switched on, I assumed that that was the problem. Going through my settings again I stumbled on a setting I must have switched on by accident: NFC. After turning that one off, I got the notification once more. So I switched off bluetooth, then the phone itself, switched it on again, switched bluetooth on and havn't had the notification since!! Let's hope it stays that way, otherwise I will try the forced turn off.

I'm affraid I've cheered a little bit too soon. This mornig when I used an app I got the notification again. Twio times so far :(, i'm gonna try the forced turn off.

Sorry, I was out today. Yes, I've tried it, but it didn't solve the problem, I stil get the notification. It onlyseems to go away when I turn off bluetooth, but that is very annoying because I have to remember to switch it back on when I get into my car (carkit). Do you have any ideas what else may cause this?

How about smart connect?Have you tried clearing data for it?Settings-apps-all-smart connect.

No,the warranty is intact,Sony update service or pc companion are official sony apps.Just the phone memory is erased.

There is a repair software option in pc companian

You can use sony update service also
