The phone crashing

Hi Hope you can help, My xperia go has started to experience some problems with crashing and slow running over the last 2 weeks. Its running Android 4.1.2 and I am based in the UK, i have checked for software updates and there are none due.

The problems seem to have been with contacts and other apps becoming unresponsive, there is plenty of memory on the phone both internal and SD card. Essentially the phone freezes and I have to wait or try to turn it off which is sometimes successful sometimes not. The problem happened 5 times yesterday.

I love the phone and really want to try and get it working properly again, any advice woudl be greatfully received.

Have you tried force restart(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates)?If still not working,repair phone software with sony update service.

I hadn't realised that was the process for a forced restart, as i accidentally did that yesterday in frustration. Problem still there. I will try your other suggestion. Aaron

Hi alexdon, I did a complete restore last night, took a while but so far so good the phone is behaving itself. Thanks for the advice and merry Christmas. Aaron

Been having this problem myself. Have done a repair on operating system etc and it worked for a little while but now is locking up again after about a week or 2...

Yeah sadly mine is doing the same again too. I was wondering if one of the apps is causing the problem, I am also getting messages asking me if I want to wait for the app or force close it. It's not as ad as originally but still pretty frustrating and the battery life seems to down too. Hmmm any ideas?

You might consider taking the phone to sony service.

Hi I just got a Go the other day and have similar problems ("upgraded" to android 4.1.2 as well)

the phone is SLOW. Takes about 10 seconds to answer a call, same time to start calling after I try to call someone, gets stuck , screen goes black, need to do the power/volume reset thing.... I noticed most of this was happening while in "STAMINA" power saving mode, but is a little better when I turn that off, but not 100% sure about that. Anyone know if this a known problem? I am still in the period where I can return the phone and get a different one, Should I persist?

It depends on what phone you could get.Try a force restart(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates).Also,restart the phone regularly.

Hi Bob I have had mine for over 9months and it has been brilliant, until the last 4 weeks. I am going to contact the service team to see if they can help. If feels like something in the software has changed to cause this, but I have done the restart and restore and the problem is slightly better.

Mine is going back to Sony for repair

Will let you know what happens, I asked if they knew of problems with the GO and was told "No there are no known issues on the Go"
