Phone hangs when updating Apps

Hi all, I am Natesh Krishnan from India, I am using Xperia ION since May 2013. I was so happy with the SONY experience. Then after a long wait, got JB update from Sony. I have done the update successfully & i was so happy to have the new UI & mobile experience, and since 3 weeks, My phone is getting hanged whenever i Update my apps in google play, otherwise phone is working good. I tried several methods like Factory reset & still i am facing the same error. If u have any solution please share with me.

Sounds really strange. I suggest that you repair your phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > "Repair phone".

You could also try with another Google account on your phone to see if you experience any difference.

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your reply. I did the repair option as suggested by you, still facing the same problem. Whenever i open Playstore for updating my apps, phone hangs again & have to be restarted, sometimes the downloaded app shows as *Package is invalid*.

Actually one more thing, i forgot to say. When the phone starts to get hang, (Very slow in actions) if we Switch off the Data connection, then the phone works normally... I am confused. Please Help.

Did you try with another Google account?

Do you experience any different behavior if you try with Wi-Fi instead of mobile data connection?

I had tried with another Google account, still facing the same problem, now i have to check with Wi-Fi...

Hi Alexander,

I tried updating the apps In Google play using WiFi, and it worked perfectly.

Can you help me with the problem now.

Then it seems like there is some kind of network problem. I suggest that you try with another SIM card in your phone, perhaps from another network operator.

I m also having the same problem.I m from Bangladesh & I have tried each & every solution you mentioned so please sony fix this bug in ion JB update!!!

Hello Akshay,

I had this problem when I was in Sweden, using Lycamobile network.

Once i am back to India, i started using my Vodafone sim & It worked well..

Hi,

Do you experience this both when you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and on your mobile data?

Does the phone behaves normally in other apps and features?
