Sync problem in Xperia Tipo

Recently I tried to sync my mobile contacts with my Google account but none of my contacts were synced.I bought the mobile like 4 months back, but i had turned off the sync option, now 2 days ago I turned it on.What might be the problem?? Reply asap

To get your contacts synced from your phone to your Google account, the contacts must be saved as "Google contacts" and not "phone/internal contacts".

If the contacts are saved as phone contacts you can make a backup to the SD card and then import the contacts from the SD card and select to import them as Google contacts. Go to contacts > menu button > backup contacts > to SD card. To import contacts you open contacts > menu button > import contacts > from SD card save as Google contacts.

Then you should be able to sync to Google.
