Sony Xperia Tipo Dual System Update?

I have Sony Xperia tipo dual. Since the last few days it is showing that a new system update 11.0.A.6.8 is available. But I am not able to get the update using PC Companion. Location - India. Please help.

just like any other update you have to wait for the update to be approved and released in your country

My phone was also showing software upgrade available since last couple of months and performance was sluggish.

For software upgrading we need to have a PC/Laptop with Sony PC companion software and internet.

When you connect your phone through the PC companion it will automatically detect your existing android version in mobile and prompt you for upgrade. I did it yesterday and performance has improved.

Hi, I got the 11.0.A.6.8 system update notification a while ago and finally got around to do it today through PC Companion. The update worked without a hitch. The phone seems to work fine. Can't figure out what it is that is supposed to have improved. Does anybody know what the upgrade was meant to do?

There is a new OS Android 4.4 Kitkat and it is more lighter than the jellybean in running. So here I am requesting for a update of Kitkat for Tipo dual. when you are going to provide the same for this handset?

As I found its the most dumb mobile ever at this price and there is no proper support from sony when I have got earphones sound problem. now my warranty period is over. And one more thing is that the mobile is hangs and restarts some times. Not supporting any of the earphones. so it is very difficult to find one at stores, and if we want to buy earphones than we have to buy a converter from CTIA to OMTP. because there is no CTIA earphones available at market even sony is also not producing it. But we have to buy earphones compatible with OMTP & than sony converter. So thats good strategy to double profit. I think Sony have to think about their customers before producing their devices and if they are sure to produce that devices for around next 5-6 years than they should have to launch it to market.

And now I am looking for official kitkat update for this mobile. And sony had produced this Model and now they are not interested to provide upgrades for this mobile any more. So is this the care sony does for their customers?

Maybe I can help you out regarding the head phones. I ordered a pair on eBay that said: "Genuine Sony Handsfree Headphones for Sony ST21i Xperia Tipo". Never worked. Did all kinds of funny things to my phone. I sent them back and ordered another pair of another seller. They are "Sony Ericsson MH750". Just search eBay for item number: 281019205282
These work fine for me. I've just ordered another pair this evening to have one spare.

I also bought a pair of ordinary head phones in the EuroShop for 2 Euro, and they work well for listening to music. But they have no mic.

I absolutely love my Tipo. It's my first smartphone and I thought it was great value for the money. Maybe you get to like yours a bit better once you have working headfones.

Thanks Tifan for Support & Help but now I am not so much interested in this mobile due to its very bad performance as restarts some times and also hangs & close applications while watching online video every time, So can not see online videos ever. In actual this is my second sony mobile phone and its also as poor as previous one. now I dont have any faith in SONY.

Actually I upgraded the compilation of my xperia tipo using Sony PC companion and it's way too slow now, how can I downgrade it? The current one is 11.0.A.6.5.
