Update to JB not working

When I run PC Companion or Update Service, I fail every time. When I'm meant to hold down the down button a plug in xperia, it doesn't do anything.

It does only 2 things:

1) if I hold DOWN button, the led turns light green (ye, actually a bit lighter then when charging) and after few seconds, it changes into red and show battery image and continue charging....

2) if I hold UP button, the led turns violet. On pc, there is some pop-up with selecting looking for a driver, and two options to cancel looking for drivers. If I click on "search for drivers" (or sth like this, because my language is CZ), it starts to search but after few secs mobile goes to charging state and pc says the device was unplugged..

I had trouble installing ICS too, but this http://communities-origin.sonyericsson.com/thread/47945?start=0&tstart=0 worked for me. Updating from webpage worked for me. But obviously, this is not possible anymore.

You should release the volume down button the moment the light changes to yellow-green, or it will enter charge mode instead.

Volume down: Flash mode (PCC, SUS, Flashtool)

Volume up: Fastboot (don't use this)

try this

first on your PC reinstall PCC or install SUS > install JAVA (google JAVA download) > restart your PC > disable your firewall and antivirus > run SUS

turn off your phone > press and hold volume down > while still holding it > connect the usb cable > do NOT release the volume down key.

try all my suggestions, it's your PC

try this

1) restart your PC > as soon as it boots up press F8 > safe mode > try again

2) create a new Admin account and follow all the steps.

Yeah, I got the same thing too the first time, you need to watch carefully for the LED color change and release the button immediately. If that doesn't work, you might want to consider checking your cable. And don't keep it waiting in flash mode for too long either - it'll give up and enter charge mode.

Did this with safe mode. Nothing. I released button after battery showed up.

Since last reply, I tried everything.. Different cable, leaving button, when it changes color.

I uninstalled PCC and wanted to install it on new user, but it told me, I have old version so it updated. But I couldnt find startup so I uninstalled again plus manualy deleted installation files.

New user acc:

Installation of fresh version went fine, but in safe mode it apparently couldnt find my phone (the same after restarting to safe mode again). So I restarted to normal mode and it found it, downloaded package but what a surprise! Update didnt start..

Finally there is patch for buggy ICS and I cant install it. Im really sad 😕

Thank a lot for your trying, but nothing helped.

Than today I tried it once more with different cable and different pc just for fun. And voila.! So Im running JB. Nice piece of software but..

Why update center in phone never says there's an update? And for god sake, why missed sms/calls doesn't appear in lockscreen? That made me very sad

if you have a pattern, pin, password lock you are not going to see the notification, now if you want to get notifications like the iPhone there are myriad apps that will do that.

I just have to swipe screen to unlock.. Also I saw there is meant to be a feature to adjust intensity of vibrations, but I can't find it. Maybe Telefonica O2 did sth 😕
