incoming calls and text messages problem?

I have owned a Sony Xperia Tipo phone for nine months now and although up till recently everything was going great, during the last few days people that call me cannot get through to me, as though my device is turned off. The same goes for text messages, they do not get delivered. During that time, however, the phone works perfectly, I can still call, only others cannot reach me. The only way to see who tried to contact me is to turn it off and on again, in order to receive the text notifications.

I have updated and reinstalled the software, to no avail whatsoever, the probem persists. This is deeply upsetting, what else can I do to fix this?

I suggest that you try to receive a SMS/call with another SIM card put in your phone.

If the problem persist with another SIM card in your phone, I recommend that you make a factory reset of the phone.

Changing the network setting to "GSM only" was what finally solved the problem, thanks!

Hi my phone is a contract phone that i recently changed from PAYG, i have had this problem since yesterday when my number was transferred over cannot receive incoming calls or text messages tried to solve the problem on live chat with vodafone absolutely crap service nothing was solved been on there 5 times today with no avail please, please can somebody help!

I think your problem must be solved by your carrier.
