What is Stable Updating Procedure??

Hi guys..!! I hav ICS available for my mobile.. I wanna know what is the stable updating procedure for updating to ICS.. And is it better to update via SUS or PC Companian?? Please help me in updating my mobile.. I want a stable update.. Kindly help..

1- back up all ur data

2- do a factory reset + erase everything

Thanks for making such detailed DIY post on updating ICS with SUS. But could you please technically explain why updating with PCC is less stable compared to SUS. Though I haven't got update in XU yet but while I was updating ICS on my previous Xperia Live with Walkman I saw some videos and how-tos to update ICS both with PCC and SUS. I personally found updating via PCC more easy. Please give me some reasons to change my decision. Thanks.

I think its more stable as its sole work is to update while pcc has lot of other features so they interfere and it requires many drivers while sus does not need many drivers

SUS is a standalone updating program. It performs no other task. Thus the operation of SUS is much smoother and faster unlike PCC, which can perform many funstions.

i updated my mobile using sus as per ur instructions but while updating i removed d sim..:smileysad: i repaired d mobile also.. everything is fine except one major problem der is some serious issue with message notifications, mobile is not vibrating n some tyms it goes un noticed without notification i mean no notification sound:smileysad:.. even with gmail n whatsapp i am facing d same isue.. arnab bhai please help...

this is not a problem due to SIM so dont worry. this is a bug with ICS in Xperia U. everyone is facing this problem. I also faced it a few days ago, restarted, and changed the notification tone to default and the problem hasnt occurred since.

thank you arnab bhai.. now my mobile is working perfectly xcept d vibration in notifications..vibration for notifications is not working.. i think it is a bug.. nywy so now i dont need to repair it once again???

Can u pls tell me one thing that can I update ICS with a data cable that came with Samsung Galaxy S phone because I lost my XU data cable. The original data cable had humps near its both ends which might work as converter. I had an observtion that using the original data cable took less time to charge. So can I update with a normal SGS data cable?
