Certain apps always keep running on my Xperia J like - Facebook, Maps, LiveWire Manger. It becomes a headache that everytime I have to manually kill these apps but after a while they start automatically. This consumes RAM and memory usage is always in the range of 70-75%, even if I am not using any applications on the phone.

Is there a way to configure my phone so that I can control which process I want to always run or don't run ? This would help me in getting better RAM usage when I actually use other apps or play games. Please help and suggest me a way.

Thanks uliwooly. At this moment I have one such app - GO TaskManager EX. Yes this is my first Android so I am a novice :smileyhappy:.

The only intention of installing this app was the same reason as I mentioned early on, that my RAM always shows a higher usage of memomy so I thought I can better control it with a third party app.

But as per your reply the only difference I see is that it is not any third party app which is always running but system apps like FB, LiveWire Manager, Contacts.

yes and thats normal that those apps run in the background, you can disable them if you don't use them.

settings > apps > all > tap on an app > disable it

is Sony spying on users in this forum?

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/60197

Don't forget to mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers

UNRELATED topic, if you have some time please check this thread

http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/244522#244522
