Network issues even after ics update on xperia p!

last night i updated my xperia p software.evrything has been fixed except the network issues.network suddently drops to 1 and sometimes it even shows 0 network signal.i dont know what might have caused this.when my started y phone after the update it was showing android is updating.but it was stuck on finishing boot,so i had to force restart it.but the battery backup has become good now.

Cotact ur near area service centre, they will install new orignal firmware with best method..

HI Amit,

Even me facing the same issue,

Whenever i end the call, the network goes away for 30 seconds till it comes back.

What is to be done?

No, i have no problem with network...

u should see the first reply.it has two solutions.but the best one is to go to sony authorised service center and get it fixed.but if you don't have any idea about the locations of service centers then call just dial on 22222222.or google searc for it.

another wierd kida problem that i have got.3g doesn't run like 3g anymore after updating.the speed is like 2g,i can see h icon on the notifications bar but the speed is not as it is supposed to be.speed was xellenweni did' update my phone,ie. when i purchased my phone.is this happening to anyone else coz not even the airtel guya are able to solve this.i called them up 4 times same answer all the time that ur problem has been solved(bloody liers)!!

the best way to do is have sony themselves fix it, bring it to your local sony service center.

Hi,

After an ICS update my xperia P is facing network problems. network goes up and down after every minute and suddenly it will show good network. very upset with the sony about problems in such high end phone.

You don't mention if you are having trouble with wi-fi or your service provider's network but if it is wi-fi issues you are having trouble with then you are not alone. It is quite possible that you are experiencing the same issue as all of us in this thread:

network indicator shows zero bars .. there is no internet connection .. randomly the network connection will come and go ..when i use the same sim card in another phone it works .. dont know why sony creates such phone .. if u say i have to visit service center .. am i supposed to do all this stuff after buying a 24800 phone ..i had even tried repairing from PC companion .. but no use .. i should say the problem is worsened ..

why do they make updates available if it is not possible to update the phone without any glitch?>??sony have to do something abt this.

They make updates hoping these would improve phone performance.Sony doesn't think about the possibility of updates with bugs,they only release them and after that,well,you can see on this forum.They release a firmware update,when several bugs can be fixed.Not only the updates are with problems,there are also phones with hardware issues.

I am facing the same problem. Although mine is not related to wifi or internet. I just noticed this today that my phone has very frquent network issues. It is usually showing a zero signal for a minute or two at the places where my old phone used to show full signal strength. My ICS update went well and as such I don't have the other issues which people have listed. But network issues on a new sim! That's bad.

kindly change the network setting to either CDMA or GSM.

Setting==> Mobile network setting ==> Network mode.

Select CDMA id cdma is the card or else GSM for GSM user.

This has solved my issue which was same as the one mentioned above.

Try it out.
