Keys power on, display, volume up/down and camera keys are working. Warrenty is void as it was liquid damage.

Gave cell to Sony Authorized service center, they cleaned phone and said connector part from display is corroded and total screen needs to be replaced.

Can that corrosion be cleaned up? They cleaned it, earlier it down left was bit darker now that issue is not there but still touch is not working.

Can anyone suggest what to do next? Really miss the phone!

Thanks,

iMindG

since the warranty won't cover this, you have few options pay Sony repair center to replace the part or you can buy the part yourself and replace it or get a new phone

Don't forget to mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers

unrelated topic, if you have some time please check this thread

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/44888

Hi All,

checked with another service center person, He opned the phone and checked

- Display is excellent

- Motherboard and other things on upper half of the phone is Good. No water entered there.

- Even touch is good.

- Problem is with connector strap which connects touch with main panel which is corroded.

Guy said only that stap can be replaced and sent phone to headoffice service center.

Not sure if one can get that connector strap seperately. if that is the case there will save huge amount of money.

Above picture points to corroded connector part in my case these connectors are not good. Can Only this part be replaced? Didnt see anyplace about how this can be opnened and replaced.

Thanks!

Its been over a month! Still i havn't received my cellphone. Sony authorized service center has requested a new spare part. but its not sent by Sony yet!

Called Sony call center the gave our Reqional Head cell number, when I call other side he doesn't even pick the phone.

My pride Sony Xperia S though it was expensive, bought it with saving money. Now looks like all went waste, with this pathetic delay in service have lost all hope on the phone.

Its not a pride anymore.

Planned to buy Xperia Sola for my wife, thinking twice now.

If its replacing LCD and digitizer there is no point in replacing!
