Help About The Updating Process !

Hi guys..

After a long time of being waiting for the release of ICS..

I have noticed that finally my phone SI number had been added to the thread of the SI numbers list.

Okay, That's great!!

BUT, When i checked my phone with PC Companion and SUS..

Both programs are saying that my phone on the latest software 🙂

I have got nothing else to say 😕

I would suggest that you uninstall both PCC and SUS > restart your PC > install SUS > restart your PC > then try again

Ok, im gonna do it now and will be back..

*By the way to make sure that everything is going well here..

i have flashed the .58 FW to make sure if things are working or not..

then i tried to connect my phone via usb to get updated to .62 FW ..

And it had been done successfully!

ok that's the reason it's not working, since you already flash a different firmware, PCC and SUS won't update the SI number on the back of your phone, you have a new kit/si number so you can't get your original firmware by using SUS or PCC you need to use flashtool and flash it, but you need to get it, you can create a thread on the XDA forum so someone could upload it

Unfortunately, i tried the ICS Manual update before flashing the .58

But as i'm in egypt.. my firmware should be a little different from the known one ..

like Video unlimited and sony entertainment.. etc

all that bloatware stuff was removed from my original FW..

Also i got a problem after using the generic FTF ..

That google store can't recognize my Carrier!

and when i searched for apps like Whatsapp or Go SMS Pro..

both are saying: This item cannot be installed on your device's country !! :S

i also have searched alot around the internet for my old FW but i got nothing!

i feel like im so stupid to have flashed the ROM manually!!!

Could you help me please with other solution ?

there isn't another solution, just to wait for someone to upload your firmware or check wotanserver

Feels like i wanna burn my phone as it seem now to be useless

it has been with me for only 3 months!

ugh.. is there no way of getting my original FW back ?! like contacting sony ?

Could they send me the original ROM ?!!

this is my suggestion, create a new thread and call it, if you have this SI number or from Egypt please create a ftf file

Sony won't send you the ftf file, but you can go to a sony repair center and ask them to re-install everything

What about if i have waited until i get the update for my current ROM [ (1250-5829) .62 FW ] ?

Do you think that my problems like recognizing my carrier by google.. are gonna be solved ?!

the carrier issue might be that the correct apn settings are missing or an old SIM card. I would just double check those two

While im now at .62 FW google is recognizing it. Unlike the ICS.

Also while i was flashing the ROM that file was ignored Simlock.ta !!

and i tried the last time to check the option ' Exclude TA '

but the problem still exist !

The lesson if have learned .. that the next time i buy an android phone

i'll not mess up with it's system files to be in the safe area until i know every little thing about it

but it's hard to do.. as we got alot important things in our life to do !

have you tried to flash it w/o the SIM card ? I've seen this issue with Russian users, but I don't know if they tried w/o the SIM card
