Is my screen dead?

Hi everyone.

I discovered today that my screen is not working. the phone works because it vibrates and makes sounds sometimes. but the screen wont show anything. the backlight works but thats about it.

i tried a forced restart by pressing power and volume up buttons. it did restart but nothing else happened.

i was able to connect to the device with adb.exe from sdk_tools. and with another app called android screen cast i was able to see my screen on the computer. i was able to do a backup but after that i thought maybe it was a software error. so i flashed it with the ICS update for Xperia S. but after that i havent been able to see what happened. adb wont recognize the device anymore, even though windows does. i was able to look into the files in the internal storage. but now i cant do anything.

what should i do?

have you tried to repair your phone with SUS?

Well, i tried the SUS and it did install everything, but nothing happened. screen is still dead... T-T any other ideas?

I will in a few hours i guess. Thanks anyway. does this means it isn't software related?

it seems to be a hardware issue
