pc companion is a total disaster, when i try to transfer contacts from a different phone the software just hangs up and shuts down maybe it is because of the 64 bit os i have.

But I do not see why i must use the internet to synchronise my contacts, that is just plain stupid. never mind the data usage but now i am putting all my contact details on the net available to google.

uliwooly thanks for the advice, the software woks but I still Sony could have done a better job with the rubbish they put out, really unlike Sony. All the other android phones have decent software to sync their phones.

SONY PC COMPANION IS RUBBISH FIX IT OR GET SOME OTHER COMPNAY TO SORT IT OUT FOR YOU

I agree, PC Suite was great, I still don't understand why Sony discontinued that useful program.
