What do you do after swimming with the phone?

The best thing having a water resistant phone is the ability to enjoy it on water, but as you all know the back cover of the xperia active does allow water to enter between it and the water resistant cover, so what do you do after? do you dry it off or just let it dry on its own?

I used to dry it off after, open the back cover and wipe. but recently I have decided using the wrist strap supplied after I accidently dropped my phone on the pool 8 ft deep, I could not rescue it so I had to call my friends. , now as you know the dilema of removing the strap and the back cover, I wonder is it okay to leave the space between back cover and water resistant cover wet.? and uhm my phone is fine, it kept recording till it hit the bottom of the pool.

I testewd the phone my self and after i removed my phone from the pool when i got home the speaker produced a horrible distorsion and i removed the bach cover i dry it and at he loud speaker i use a

hairdryier.

i also dropeed mine on the pool a few months ago i just dove after it and i removed the back panel off and wiped the inner cover and let it dry naturally ...after that good as new :smileygrin:

Mine did so too. After dropping it to a bucket-full of water I tried to play some music and man! it sure was horrible. I thought maybe water might be leaking in through the speaker, but after letting it dry off for a while, played some high quality acoustic music in maximum volume and YAHOO, everything is back to perfect again. I think the water getting trapped at the entrance(Output) of the speaker is what's causing the horrible sound. I also noticed that the speaker is too small,(I suppose for 'water-resistant' reasons), and if you try to block the entrance(output) of the speaker, the sound would just go Horribly bad. So, if you so happen to test your phone and bucket-full of water, don't panic if the sound quality goes horribly bad, let it dry off for a while and it will be perfect again.:smileywink:

woah dude, you never use hairdryer with a phone..regarding with speaker, I just place it on a position that would allow water to drain, after a few minutes its good as new.

The best way to let it dry is by just removing the back cover and just leave it for a couple of ours and hopefully it drys out and will be working as it should afterwards. Fingers crossed!

I don't know if anyone actually every read the small water resistance guide that was in the box, but it very clearly states that the phone should not be taken for a swim. Sea water should also be avoided.

Thanks for this. My phone got wet for the first time the other day - dropped in a sink with water running, which always happened to my previous phone :-). So I removed the back and was shocked to see water. I thought the water resistance had failed. I'm glad to find this is normal
