charging problem :(

hello to everyone...!

my arc s is not charging when is turned off

i turn off the device,and when i plug it in the charger,it shows me sony logo, -same time blue led- and then nothing.

i dont see the thunder any more as i supposed to ... 😕

could you please help me.? sorry for my bad english

Hmm, this is a problem that even i am facing

Is your mobile rooted ?

Try connecting it to different wall socket , chrage with different PC usb CABLES

See if you find the same problem

yes it is rooted... 4.0.4.

i have no other usb cable...

but im gonna find one

The problem is because we both have a rooted mobile.

If you will reinstall your phone's software this problem will vanish. But as soon as you root your mobile, you will start facing this problem

No need to test it with different cables as i tested it with 4-5 cables and problem remained

Most likely yess... it's quite risky

And there is no way on a rooted mobile...

I will try to find a cause though

okh dimitrissd here is the way

Since your mobile is rooted then download this

Move it to system/ Bin, copy and replace the older one

And yeah remember to change the permissions as

I had the same problem and after researching I found similar problem faced by an Xperia Mini user. He got his mobile repaired by replacing the "charger" file under system/bin/ and so did I replace the file "charger" from Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and lol it worked!! Amazingly it helped coz I was going to repair through PCC. Still waiting for file named "charger" from Xperia Arc coz I don't want to use this Xperia Mini file and informed Nabeel who shall help me for sure Thanks Nabeel! You doing Great Job!!

Also to let you know. Setting permissions for file named "charger" was not required !

it's from my device

Xperia Arc S

Just for your info all the 2011 xperias share the same file so you could use the charger file in any xperia

after do this to my Arc s

the battery was charged on another phone and worked good now it was 52% and when connect the charger it become 0% and didn't start up

try charging it again

any other silution for this charging problem

yes my phone is rooted .587

yes it can't charge while off and if my battery full or any xx% capacity get to 0% and never charger again

i can't charge my phone

my battery can charge in other phone

my battery take long time in phone to get low

phone work good with data cable and i can flash any firmware with flashtool or SUS or PcCom

Then do one thing, reinstall your phone's software using SUS

and then root your mobile using the guide here

Bakup before reinstalling if you wish
