I have just bought a Nissan Note with built in bluetooth (Nissan Connect), but I cannot get my Xperia pro to pair. The phone is running ICS. I have 2 other (non-android) phones which pair with the car easily, and the phone itself will pair with my netbook, so there is nothing fundamentally wrong wilth the phone or the car. The only wrinkle I can see is that the phone, according to the literature, defaults to a passcode of 0000, whereas the car is fixed at 1234. I never get the opportunity to enter the passcode - the car just says it has failed to connect.. Are there any android apps which will control bluetooth better, or is there some other known issue?

I have heard about this issue from a colleague of mine who had the same problem. I don't know why the passcode-box isn't triggered (this has been escalated internally for investigation) but I have a workaround for you.

Open up contacts in your Neo, select a contact and send it via bluetooth. When you get the list of available devices, choose the car. When you select to send this to your car, you get to put in the passcode. Now they should be paired.

Hi @ all,

I just found this forum, because I was looking for the problem with my 2006 Volkswagen Passat with original Bluetooth telephone preparation (Volkswagen FDE standard) using the Volkswagen Touch Adpater omserte to the phone slot.

There is no chance to get the Xperia Pro MK16 connected by bluetooth. I tried everythin, including fully reset of the complete Volkswagen bluetooth equipment by CAN bus.

Formerly I had no problem to connect other phones, (Palm, Apple, Nokia). The Xperia works fine with my othe cars Parrot equipment.

The issue:

The Volkswagen Touch Adapter is shown in bluetooth devices after searching. After touching the entry for paring, this will be stopped after a few seconds without any reult or a pop up tells me about communication problem.

Some google results told about a general bluedtooth problem with Android 4.

Is there any chance to downgrade my phone to Android 2.3? This phone is my first Android phone. I do not have any favours regarding the Androis version, it just should work.

I got my Xperia phone this week and it came originally installed with ICS4.0.4

It would be nice if there is any chance to get the phone running with my Volkswagen.

Kind regards

Andreas (Xotzil)

Hello everyone!

Tough I have Xperia S still with Gingerbread, I encountered the same problem as many of you, and as many people in the web.

But let’s start the history step by step…

I tried to pair my Xperia with factory installed Bluetooth car kit (Citroen C5 - mfd. 2007).

The problem was that when I was trying to connect, there was a “connection failure” announcement.

Phone was finding the car properly, but when connecting, there was no option for typing in the PIN code.

After searching many forums and “ask & answer” sites, I found that the phone is automatically send “0000” PIN code. In my car kit the PIN code is “1234”. Normally the phone, after trying those quad-zeros should ask for other PIN code, but it didn’t.

I asked SONY about this bug, but no one could answer the question, why it doesn’t ask for alternative PIN and they were starting the “song” about incompatibility. Meanwhile I connected to the car kit Xperia Live with Walkman (Gingerbread), which also tried quad-zeros, but after few seconds, asked for PIN code. J

Some people wrote that helped them trying to send the contact or any file to the Bluetooth car kit system…during this phone asked for PIN code and managed to pair the phone.
My problem was that when trying to send contact or file, phone didn’t detect the car… probably because it recognized it as the headset, not a device able to receive files.

I tried different programs advised for Bluetooth file transfers and Bluetooth connection “helpers”.

None of them was successful except one… ASTRO!

I had already installed ASTRO file manager, and I added to this ASTRO Bluetooth plugin. Both are available at GooglePlay.

I turned on Bluetooth in the phone, then turned on ignition in the car (without starting engine – pairing method can vary in cars of course), then Opened ASTRO file manager and chose jpg to send via Bluetooth… ASTRO found the car kit (which wasn’t found by the phone ) . I press send and then it tried to pair asking for PIN code. Of course sending the file failed, but the car remembered the pairing as well as the phone.

Now I just turn on Bluetooth in the phone and it connects with car, moreover it reads phonebook and call list form the phone without any problem.

So don’t believe manufacturer that some malfunctions are not their problems and all is due to incompatibility. FIX THIS BUG SONY!!!

Hi all, thought I'd post this as me and the Mrs had the same issue on our 2012 qq, problem solved after much searching the Web and found the following on Google play. Blue tooth auto connect, developed by Michael brackmann, it is 1.38 to buy but is excellent at connecting to everything including the nissan connect head unit. Worth every penny. Enjoy.
