ICS: Lock screen incorrect and Lock screen settings missing

I have installed the ICS update for my ARC with SI number 1245-4552

and now I'm wondering that there is missing the menue "display -> lock screen settings" therefore I can't configure the Lock screen.

Also the Lock screen differs from ICS standard and Sony videos for demonstrating ICS features (e.g. ARC S with ICS).

On my Lock screen is on per upper part the clock (that's correct) but on the lower part is the key pad to fill in the password.

So I have none of the new features on the Lock screen available.

Also it is a bad behavior that on the Lock screen the key pad is allways available and it could happen that you type something what you don't want in case you have your phone in the hand or jacket or somewhere.

Has anybody an idea why the is no ICS style Lock screen and no settings?

do you have a PIN password on your phone? if you do delete it and check the settings menu again

Thanks uliwooly,

I changed PIN to "graphic"

removed it complete

removed PIN for SIM

None of this measures helps.

The Lock screen and settings ate missing.

Still the same, clock on the top of screen and PIN or graphic input on the lower side of the Lock screen and is immidiatly activated for input.

Is there a bug in the new ROM or maybe a bug for the German version?

Any idea?

Hello,

no, I just sync with standard Google account.

For me it is very strange that the Lock screen settings menue is missing.

In my opinion it seems some bug within the ROM, may only for German phones.

Here you can see a picture wich shows the screen of my phone.

Keep in mind that there is no slider for log-on or activate camera, it is always this screen when I activate my phone.

Are you sure that the ARC really have the standard Lock screen and settings as the standard Google ICS version?

Any further ideas?

You do not have any settings as

Settings > security > Screen Lock > type the pin and select "Slide"

thank you for your suggestion.

I tried it and I got the slider on the look screen.

Unfortunalety there is no PIN request after slide and the phone is unlocked.

Is this behaivior correct?

When I watch to this video, I can see all expected featurure and behaivior (it's a Xperia S)

With the old Adroid there was a PIN request after silde.

Also I still wonder where the "Display / Lock screen settings" is?!

Without this menue you can't set parameters for the Lock screen.

See a scrennshot of my mobil, there you can see that the menue end at personalize / Theme (here Design).

Below should be "Lock screen settings".

Could it be that for the ARC only a reduced functionality is installed???

Yes this is totally normal

In ICS it is supposed to work this way. It was GB on which you could use both slider + pin

Screen loc settings should be in the main menu of settings only
settings > lock screen

Are there no such settings ?

I think it's not the normal behavior,

If I see the videos above, I can see that there is a slider and a PIN.

The lock screen settings are not at

settings > lock screen

Only in

settings > security > lock screen

are settings but just the settings to chose PIN, password or slider...

I still miss the settings to configure what notifications I want to see on my Lock screen.

If there ist all the time the PIN input field on my lock screen there is no space for any notification.

On the other hand there is also no "Quick launch" function and settings for the camera.

If you like, I can post more screenshots of my phone.

In my opinion, Sony made a mistake for transfering the ICS 4 maybe for all Xperia Arc oder just for the German ones.

I will again repeat myself that this feature of slide + pin was available on Gingerbread and it has been removed in ICS

The videos above are of Xperia s and 2012 family, and you have 2011 xperia arc s

Screen lock of xperia s and arc s are different in ICS. You can't read messages on your mobile as shown in the video by Sony

The video showing features of ICS is for 2012 xperias and not 2011 xperias

And regarding screen lock video, the Xperia S shown is running gingerbread and that's the reason slide + pin is available

And that quick launch settings for camera are for 2012 xperias and not for 2011 xperias

So your device is absolutely fin and normal

OK, I'm convinced now

I couldn't know about that behaivior, because there seems to be no exact list of features of ICS for Xperia ARC. The manual is still the old one, also the manual within the phone.

As you know, the videos show functions what I can't know that these are exclusive for newer Xperia phones.

So I have to life with the available features.
