NFC option not present in Android 4.0.4!?

I bought a Sony Xperia ray a few days ago and after the update to Android 4.0.4, the option to enable NFC is not present anymore. Is there another way to enable NFC? If not, the Sony Smart Tags I just bought, will end up in the Christmas tree 😞

Mmmm... Tell me if I am wrong, but I think the Xperia ray doesn't even have NFC and I got caught by Sony that named its Xperia Smart Tags NOT compatible with all Xperia phones. That's not nice.

The xperia Ray does not have an NFC sensor
