Cannot complete update

I have been struggling for over an hour to update my Xperia Mini to the latest version of Android, using PC Companion. As soon as I am done with the 'prepare' section, nothing further happens. It keeps taking me back to the part where I must disconnect the phone, reconnect it, mount the SD card etc. Then nothing. I'm so frustrated!!!

SUS ( Sony Update Service) ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

Thank you, but this isn't working either. I get as far as the 'connect' part of the instructions, and then nothing follows. I followed the instructions to the letter, and it's not letting me get any further with the update. I'm really at the end of my tether here...

turn off firewall and antivirus,

boot pc in safe mode with networking on

try with other pc

Apologies, I selected the wrong Xperia Mini... SUS is downloading the new software now. Thank you very much for the help
