Facebook Inside Xperia™ time zone problem

Hello, I have a problem with facebook calendar sync. All times are displayed 7 hours earlier, ie. all events start 7 hours earlier and finish 7 hours earlier. Quick research showed that I'm not the only one and the issue is not bound to a particular type of phone as it was reported for many Sony phones, namely for Arc, Mini/mini pro or Play, see http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/160096, http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/104729 or http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/113283. In these threads wasn't offered any solution but it was promised that it will be investigated and possibly repaired.

Further research revealed that the issue is much bigger - it's general facebook problem, which stores all times for all users worldwide as their pacific time zone value. All websites, desktop applications, social plugins, addons, widgets have to deal with that. Even original fb app had a problem with displaying correct time but now in my Fb app for android I can see correct time. Unfortunately not in my calendar. So, how's it looking now with a solution to this problem?

Thanks for all your work and time. Version of my FW is 1234-7775_4.0.2.A.0.62 that's the latest in my region.

This has been escalated earlier but as far as I know there hasn't been any real solution published yet. I will bump the escalation once again and will hopefully get some more info.

Got some more info from the developers now. This issue will be solved in the ICS update and include some new features regarding the Facebook inside Xperia as well. So just be patient and soon this issue will be gone and forgotten

Hi!

I have found a way how to fix the app. If your phone is rooted, than you can generate your onw modified apk for your timezone.
