Xperia S Update

Hi,

I got the latest Xperia S last week and the battery life is terrible,

Updon some reading up apparently the latest firware update does fix this issue,

I am currently on 62 and my phone and pc companion says i am on the latest version although there are newer version like 72 and above?

How can i get this latest firmware?

If official software is saying you are up to date then that's the end of that, UK generic users are not getting updates either.

You would have to force flash a firmware from another territory, if you look around this forum you will find out how to do this.

Download the Sony Update Service. Follow the onscreen instructions and You should end up with a shiny new update. I'm in the UK so I know it works there.

not quite, remember .73 didn't hit all Xperia S in the UK

.73? I updated to that ages ago. Got. 75 the other day. Assumed. 73 at least had rolled out in UK.

not everybody with UK Xperia S got the update. Unlocked Xperia S never got .73

Thanks uliwooly, i will try today and definitely mark if it worked fo me,

I just want to get on a later version as i read a lot of forums where people have battery drain on this version, i am from South Africa and hope i can get that update

Why wont everyone get the updates doesnt make any sense esspecialy if there is a big issue like the battery drain, with everything turned off my battery doesnt even last a day

Thanks a lot!

I flashed to version 73 just to be safe, the weird thing after flashing was done pc companion then all of a sudden picked up there is a newer version which is 75, but when my phone was on version 62 it said there was no updates
