true,,camera has been phones downside ,,but still acceptable looking at the price range of phone,,i wanted u to suggest me some damn good android apps.,not it's features,,,

OK the market place is vast so give us an idea of what sort of apps you are looking for....

For sms I use Handcent SMS & also use SMS Backup and Restore

For email I use K-9

For Twitter I use Touiteur

For quick finding of contacts I use Gesture Search

For a launcher I use ADW alongside Home Switcher

For managing my apps in general I use Appbrain app on my phone

For file managers I use both Astro and Linda

For calendar I use Jorte

For music I have both Zimly and MixZing

Winamp have just released their version of music player for Android that allows you to make playlists on the go and use your exsisting Itunes playlists aswell but you must have upgraded your phone to Android 2.1 to use this.

MixZing, Winamp, Zimly and TuneWiki are all music applications that are free (or have free versions) and which allow you to make your own playlists. I tend to use TuneWiki to create playlists and the stock music player to listen to them. As they are all free, try them out and see what you think of each one. There is also a music player called PowerAMP, which some poeple love. It seems to have a facility for creating playlists, but as far as I have been able to work out so far, they can only be played within PowerAMP, whereas the others allow you to play the playlists using other music player applications.

Oh, and another application that I don't think anyone has yet mentioned is Barcode Scanner. Youb sometimes see links to applications and so on with a square barcode (I think of them as being Japanese, but might be wrong) and by scanning the barcode with the phone, you can download them straight to your phone.

I'd say Task Killer is something all android phones should have, really helps control battery life consumption.

it has been jst 15 days that i purchased x8 xperia..bt so many problems wd my lovely phone.smtimes blank display appears..netwrk problm...n i want to know abt other android apps fr my phone..that will b latest ...i think blackberry phones r d best..

Barcode scanner is a good app,,But because of low resolution camera it doesn't work on my x8,,It takes lot of time to scan the bar code,,and at lasts it doesn't show result,,

Dude,update your phone to 2.1,,all problems wud b resolved,,And you are a Sony Ericsson owner now,,Don't think about other brands,,they all r crap in front f SE,,And you will realise this once you use SE and then you buy any other 'X' brand phone.

My barcode scanner works perfectly, are you holding it too close to the image? This can cause problems with focusing which make it seem like it takes a long time to fix on it.

For example my phone took about 2 seconds to read the above code. (It was timed on an iPhone so maybe its not totally accurate 😉 but close enough)

Hey,,yup,,it did scanned your barcode very quickly,,but it doesn't scan quickly the other kind of barcode which has vertical lines.like this one.Though this one shows on your HD laptop,,if you try a different one,,it doesn't work.

You are not wrong, the Bar code scanner I have I use for QR codes, never tried it for anything else. There are other Barcode scanners on the market, it may be that you need a different product for scanning these.

what are the basic great apps for x8?? is the task manager app good? because i downloaded it last night but it kept restarting my phone...do you also have this kind of problem?
