Phone still vibrating?

How do i stop my phone vibrating when i receive a notification, even though I have turned off vibrate?

the notification shouldn't vibrate for long, you can always press the volume keys

You misunderstood me, the phone does not vibrate continuously it vibrates just once, but the problem is i turned off vibrate setting and it still vibrates when i get a notification.

my bad

go to settings -> sound -> vibrate -> never

open the messaging app -> press MENU -> settings -> notification vibration
