I have a pair of Dre beats (which didnt work in my Arc handset), until i used the jack off of my Astro gaming headphones. However, they sound no WHERE NEAR as loud as they do when plugged into my laptop? I was wondering if their is a way of getting the full potential from the headphones? thanks

If I'm not mistaken Dre Beats don't use/support the same standard we use.

We use the standard OMPT. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OMTP

I think Dre Beats use CTIA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CTIA_%E2%80%93_The_Wireless_Association

These are two different standards and there will likely be compatibility issues when you try to use either with the other.

you are correct, i found the j ack as i said before which enabled the headphones, but they were not were good as i said before..

however, Monster (who make the Beats brand), have ones that do work. i swapped my beats straight over at HMV for Monster Turbine in-ears, which are enabled on my Arc handset. hope this helps for any future Beats purchasers. The headphones are almost identical in sound, and are exactly the same in price.
