How can I prevent the phone from connecting to a mobile network when abroad?

I just bought an xperia m4aqua and because I am going abroad I will not use the telephone but only wifi. Please can you let me know how to switch off all other options in order to be sure only wifi is working? This is very important to me because if the smartphone tries to go "online" through the telephone, I will suffer high expenses by the telephone company. Thank you. I must be sure that the smartphone remains "offline" for all the days I remain abroad. I fear that the smartphone tries to go automatically "online" when I shut off shut on.

Hi @estersandro, welcome to our forum!

The easiest way is to just remove the SIM card from the phone when you are about to board the plane or at the airport and then keep it in your wallet or similar and mount it in the phone once you are back home in the country where you live, that way you can make sure that the phone will not connect to a mobile network when you are abroad.

You can also put the phone in airplane mode, then only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will work as network and radio transceivers are turned off.

If you want to be 100% sure that the phone will never use a network connect apart from Wi-Fi, my recommendation is to remove the SIM card from the phone.
