Hello again!

I'm glad to hear that you were able to find out which application was causing the display to not turn off, it can be very tricky at times since most users have a lot of applications in their phones!

I will keep that application in mind in case I see another user with the same troubles, so thank you for telling me which one it was!

Feel free to accept my post as a solution so other users can find it more easily and let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with!

Hello

For some reason the screen has stopped turning off automatically and unless I remember to manually turn it off, it just sits there and drains the battery. Does anyone have any ideas as to whether this a bug or a setting that has been changed involuntarily ?

Thanks in advance

Hi @sy8s, welcome to our community!

That sounds very strange, sorry to hear about that.

Is this something you only experience when the phone is connected to a charger? If that is the case you may have enabled a setting in the developer options of your phone that will keep the display awake as long as it's being charged.

You can turn this setting off if you go to Settings > Developer options > Stay awake > turn this off.

If it happens when the phone is not connected to a charger, try rebooting your phone in safe mode. In safe mode all downloaded applications won't be loaded so we can see if any of them is the cause of this, once you reboot your phone as normal again they will be loaded again.

To make it easier for you, go to Settings > Display > Sleep and change this to 15 seconds. This will make the screen turn off after 15 seconds so you don't have to wait that long to see if it works.

Let me know if that helps!

Thanks for your reply Jonas. It happens whether bing under charge or not. Booting it in Safe Mode (thanks for the link), clears the problem so I guess next thing is to try and find which App is causing the problem. I'll start with uninstalling the more recent additions.

Thanks again

Turned out to be the Lyon Airport App that was causing the problem so have deleted it. Thanks again for your help
