Will the new software for Sony M4 Aqua take more space?

I am finding the M4 already rather small. I have very few apps on it and space is a constant issue.

Will the software update take even more space?

hello @FJM

the short answer is yes, unfortunately, as new features are added more space is needed. however you can try all measures to try to save internal space, such as using chrome instead of the facebook app or moving all media to sd card. btw, are you using the 8 gb model of m4?

I have an 8GB model and it is already driving me mad with its lack of storage.

I have moved all apps possible to the SD card. All media is on the SD card. I am clearing the cache every other day. I scarcely have any apps on it. My next move is to delete the mobile banking app, Yahoo and Firefox. (Firefox: I use Facebook on it and managed to avoid installing Messenger as a consequence.)

There seems little point having a smartphone if I am so limited in the apps I can use because the system storage is bloated.

It would REALLY help me if you told me how much extra storage it uses.

My m4 aqua is bare, fresh install and that takes up 5.47GB

That is with no additional apps installed
