topic call blocking in M Series

I understand that the only way to block calls in Android is to save all calls for that contact to voicemail. I have set this up for each nuisance number calling them Block with a number (I'm up to 18!) but still get calls coming through. I have an M5 with Android version 6.0.

Secondary question should the blocking work for all numbers for that contact or just on one number?

Hi @exiledowl,

Welcome to the community.

If you enable the option to forward all calls from a contact to your voice mail, calls made from numbers stored in that contact will go directly to voice mail. This is true for all numbers stored as phone numbers for that contact, regardless of how many numbers as are stored in the contact.

If you want to outright block a number from contacting you, I recommend that you download a third party app from Google Play Store that can do this.

Let me know if this helps!

Hi , Thanks for your response.Unfortunately the forwrding option is not working. I always identify nuisance callers with the name Block and an ID number. Some calls still come through instead of going to voicemail hence the question.

Also thanks for the tip on downloading a call blocker I didn't know you could get them. Are there any that are particularly good or do they all just do the same job?

Regards,

exiledowl.
