After the update to marshmallow i am facing problems with wifi and mobile network signals. I have to stand near the router to use the internet and another problem is that xperia is not detected by pc companion. I tried 3 usb cable and it only charges, i have tried enable usb debugging option and updated drivers. Everything was fine in lollipop. This is update is buggy and i have seen others facing wifi issues as well. Please fix these issues soon.

Hi @Nightwing,

Welcome to the community.

Because these issues started right after you updated your handset, I recommend running a software repair, as it is likely to resolve the issues you are currently facing.

You can find the steps on how to do this here:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-perform-a-software-repair-with-Xperia-Companion/td-p/1103057/jump-to/first-unread-message

As you said that using pc companion would fix this issue, but it didn't. I powered off my phone and pressed volume down button then connected the cable the light went from red to green. I have another xperia that too worked fine last week. Its on lollipop and even my other xperia m4 doesnt connects to pc excepts it only shows charging. I tried enabling debugging mode as well. I tried 3 usb cables and xperia only charges. Maybe its a software issue. Its not allowing the connection between the pc and phone. Still i am facing problem in wifi, its having the range problem. Is there a fix?

There is a some problems with drivers on Windows 10 - MTP drivers not work properly. Fortunately ADB drivers work fine. So you can try to reflash with Flashtool with ADB drivers. I have similar problem - Xperia companion did not detect my M4 Aqua because of Windows 10 drivers. So I decide to download FTF file for my model and reflash with Flashtool. Of course after reflashing Xperia companion still not recognize my phone, but 2 day ago there was Windows 10 update and now Xperia companion found properly my phone and work perfect. So if you have Windows 10 first try to update to latest version and then if Xperia companion still not recognize your device use Flashtool to reinstall Marshmallow.

I downloaded the xperia flashtool and downloaded all drivers including sony pc companion, nothing worked. I have two m4 aqua one is updated to 6.0 and has the issues stated above and other one is on lollipop. Last week i was tranferring my files and mtp was working in windows 10 and pc companion detected my phone, i did receive windows update in between but i don't know if it has anything to do with this, now the lollipop version and marshmallow version are not being detected at all. I am not sure if its the device or my laptop problems i tried all ports and tried 3 different cables and today i tried it on my other pc having windows 8.1. Is there still a way to fix it or should i take it to repair center because i am facing a lot of problem due to less wifi and mobile signals.

Please help me

PS. Even adb is not detecting both phones

If in Developer menu USB Debugging is enabled on both phones - this is vital for adb drivers? I suppose that problem is with Windows itself, not with phones. I has same problems before major Windows update.

Install again ADB drivers and before use check with their launcher that are installed correctly. To install them you first need to restart Windows in mode that disable checking for certified drivers - use Google to find proper way for Windows, because there are difference between Windows 10, 8.1 and 8.0 (I don't know which version you use). With Windows 7 for example , work without problems and you can install any driver.

I tried safe mode as well in xperia and nothing worked. The last time i repaired my other xperia using pc companion was connecting fine until this week when i re connected to check for problems. I believe there is a software problem because the device and pc don't communicate at all. I have attached a screenshot, whenever i connect to my pc using usb it shows ac charging.

I think wen updating or repairing using pc companion maybe the software has removed the protocol that communicates with pc because the flash mode responds but now both phones don't respond. They show a red light for a few seconds then go green. Maybe the pc companion has something to do with my phone because yestreday i tried windows 7 and xp and they were not detecting both phones. Please suggest me something i am waiting for help.

It has been a week i guess and no one seems to have a solution. I think during software repair the program that communicates with the pc has been removed or not installed correctly and same goes with the software update. There might be some application that communicates with the pc that a media device is connected. I would like to suggest Sony to check their software because i am facing low range wifi signals and mobile network strength. Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Xperia M4 Aqua Marshmallows Update Have so much bugs fix it hurry

Two months ago, Sony rolled out a Marshmallow update on the Xperia M4 Aqua. While improving battery life and overall performance a bit, this phone still has issues. Animations still lag on some non-GPU intensive applications, like Snapchat, Google Play Store and many more. Stamina mode is not how it was before, camera focus is still terrible and the most complained thing about this device is is that it does not have adoptable storage. The 8GB variant of this phone is practically crippled in its current state, being left with less than 2 gigabytes of free storage. All we want is a solid device. It has the hardware, it just needs the attention put in the software. Please Sony, fix this device, many owners are dissatisfied with it
Also, Sony hasn't released the current Marshmallow update to all countries, so this petition applies to that as well.
The following things need to be fixed:
- Higher audio volume with the new update has been cracky and really low. The last three highest volumes feel the same, no change at all.
- The return of the old STAMINA mode, just like in 5.0. With disabled animations it looks like it lags even more when swiping the status bar.
- Better camera focus. The new update introduced a new UI for the camera, but no focus improvement whatsoever.
- Better app optimization and animations fix. With the new update this has been fixed a bit, but not a lot. Non-GPU intensive apps lag, like the official Music app from Sony when swiping for the full list of My library, songs, artists etc.
- The full functionality of Doze. You can double tap to turn the screen off, however you can't double tap to turn on the screen.
- The global release of the latest Marshmallow update. It is still not available for some countries and that seems very unfair.
- Newer themes like the Orchid theme for the E5 (probably released to other Xperia devices as well) do not work properly. It does not display the theme properly on lock screen.
- The highly requested adoptable storage. The 8 GB variant is crippled in its current state. After installing and updating some essential apps, the phone feels very limited with storage, leaving us with less than 2 gigabytes of memory to spare.
That covers the majority of the issues me and other M4 Aqua users found. If I missed out on anything, please let me know in the comments and I'll add that to the list of issues. Please do this for us, Sony.
