Cannot restore notifications sound

Hi,

Recently I temporarily turned off notifications for Facebook Messenger, Facebook Pages Manager, WhatsApp and the stock SMS app. After turning the notifications back on, I am dealing with an unusual problem where I don't get sound notifications from these apps at all. I do get the notification in the notification bar and the light on the phone is flashing, however there is no sound when I receive a message on these apps. Notification sounds for other apps work normally.

When I enter the notification settings of these apps, at the bottom I can see the warning "1 category deleted". I did some googling and I found out that this feature was intended by developers to prevent spamming from apps by automatically deleting notification categories. However, I think that my phone is incorrectly recognizing sound notifications from these apps as spam and is deleting them.

What can I do to solve this problem? I tried reinstalling WhatsApp, but it didn't work.

what if you go to settings > apps & notifications > apps > select the app > storage > clear data > restart the phone > check again
