Like you, I am seriously frustrated.

Had dinner with a friend on Saturday night, explained my woes, he has bought IPhone 7 today.

Its just appalling. How can this happen #Sony

My latest issue now is the Xperia Companion no longer works, so I cannot even back the thing up !

For who read my previous thread about the sudden death of the C5 will be interested to know that to fix various issues I ended up doing a software repair which, of course and sadly, installed marshmallow.

After two subsequential software repairs the device runs pretty well however two issues are not going away and driving me crazy.

Spare the question about safe mode because I did check in safe mode...

Here are the issues: bad wifi and Bluetooth. It disconnect every now and them if there is any Internet or Bluetooth activity.

If wifi dies, Bluetooth is the next to die, if Bluetooth dies same happen to the wifi.

This time is not related to 5ghz and 2.5ghz band, it's a probable buffer overflow becasue the way present itself is a typical bottleneck and then crash of the stacks.

So, I don't know. What's the opinion of the pros? I believe that it's software, not hardware... But you, what do you think?

I am confident that you've done all the regular troubleshooting, so I am not sure if there's anything else I can suggest to resolve this. It may be a a pre-existing issue that was exasperated by the update to the drivers and such, could be something else entirely. I think all I can say is, contact your Local support.

CameronT I have news for you, I haven't contacted Sony MX yet but I noticed the following:

The phone run even smoother if there is no sim card, so I won't lie I am not using the C5 as my daily ride however Rickard asked me to capture a log of when the issue happens so what I did is that without Sim I went in my car, connected the C5 to the stereo via Bluetooth, streamed with Spotify while connected to my home WiFi, and Bluetooth also connected to Moto360 and SWR10 - all went fine and smooth, wait... Not only smooth... But even smoother than before!!!

So today at the office, I was having the C5 with me and tried with 6 different Sim cards, no matter what carrier or Sim card the issue occur.

Now that I am home I am going to try again the C5 with Sim card, do again the experiment and collecting the bug report to send it to Rickard!!!

Recap: with Sim card, wifi and Bluetooth generally die, without sim it work perfectly and smoothly.

Hello, I'm going to add some C5 E5563 L issues on this list that happen to mine after the update

- Memory leak will happen after sometime, i dont know what actually triggered it, but if u open lots of app, things will be lagging a lot, keyboard respond very slow. Restarting the device will fix the problem, never had this happened in old L

- Bluetooth (BT) device is often not auto-connecting. when i leave the BT range with my earset (plantr***cs) then i came back, it doesnt autoconnect to C5. And also when i dont use the earset or any BT device, C5 "throwing" icon will appear randomly. never had this happened in old L

- Now I can not find where to change different call ringtone for each sim. Since i use the dual sim version, i want different ringtone for each sim calls. L have this feature, i can not find this feature on M.

- When you connect device to PC as MTP mode, and trying to backup copy from memory card to PC sometimes it will disconnect. never had this happened in L

i really hope they will fix those problems in next update. thanks

That of Throw happens also to me and there is no way to get rid of it until you force stop it or reboot the device. That's why I think it's software and not hardware related. It still seems to be a buffer overflow to me.

Meanwhile both Sony MX and Sony US are not answering my emails so I don't know what to 🤔 think...

Oh @CameronT (and I still can't mention people here)...
I was wondering why the update to Marshmallow is not available on my C5 till date. I checked in About Phone > Software Update and also in Xperia Companion, but they all say "your device is up to date", whereas the Sony website officially says that Marshmallow has been released for the C5.
Sony took a long time to release MM for this device, and yet users are having issues?

- If the update ever happen to be available, do you recommend me updating to MM OR stay with L 5.1 ??

I was excited for the MM update since some users said that it is so much better than before.

Latest software update and maintenance update fixed the issue for me.

I need to say thank you to CameronT and Rickard as well to the Xperia Support team in Mexico as they leaded me to find the right solution.

The solution was quite simple. If you received Marshmallow via XC and a software repair doesn't fix several issues, remove the sim card and the SD. Reboot the phone and perform a software reset.

After the software reset proceed with the setup of the device, connect to WiFi and allow it download and install software updates from What's New. One of them will be a maintenance update with no information whatsoever.

Turn off the phone, put back the sim and the SD card. Turn on the phone. Enjoy your C5 fully functional and issues free.
