Hi @da9el84, welcome to the community.

We've not seen one of these cracked screen issues for a while but they can be difficult to resolve, as you've noted. Did you take out an extended warranty?

Hi Mick.

I haven't no. In Denmark you have 2 years warranty by law, but getting Sony to accept this as a faulty display is hard, and I can see why. This type of damage is usually seen with the screen being hit or pressed, but my screen is literally hanging above a desk(above another monitor) never having contact with anything aside from the mount.

Hi da9el84

It's true that the pattern of the lines indicates physical damage and I find it hard to imagine that anyone would look at that picture and not come to the same conclusion.

Unfortunately, not much can be done about this except maybe booking the TV for repair via a Sony authorized repair centre to have it physically inspected by an engineer, at which point, one of the following scenarios will happen:

Physical damage is confirmed, so you will either pay inspection fees or pay the repair fees (out of warranty) (this is the most likely outcome so you have to be ready for it).

If the inspection proves the issue isn't caused by misuse, you may be able to make a warranty claim based on the inspection report by contacting Sony.

Apart from that, you can just consider buying a new TV to replace this one and call it a day.

Win_88
