Hi. My screen has started getting purple patches on the side and top of the screen. Ive tried restarting the tv and making sure it's on the latest software. Is there anything I can do or does it need to be sent off for repair. Really noticeable on a white background. Quite annoying as it's only a couple of years old. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem. Since the last update (5.417) was performed on my KD-55X8005C two purple patches appeared. Did you resolve your problem?

Yes my TV Sony KD-49X8005C is also now showing purple patches since the latest upgrade, what is going on?

This problem is bad led backlight diodes. They should light white, sometimes are broken and light blue.

Change led backlight strips(easy) or just broken diodes(hard).

Find out how do it on youtube, buy ledstrips on Ali, or somwhere.
