Sound bar switches to TV speakers and say communication failure

i have connected my new Sony Bravia to a Sony soundbar using HDMI into earc. Originally switched on with TV. now doesn’t and when I switch soundbar on it says audio connected and the quickly switched to Tv speakers due to communication failure.

If I remove HDMI cable from sound bar and connect via Bluetooth it works

Are both TV and soundbar eARC enabled?

Is the HDMI cable in use for this an ‘HDMI with Ethernet cable’?

Do you have a setting on the TV to choose between ARC and eARC?

Does the cable from the soundbar go to the eARC HDMI input on the TV?
