But which is the problem? Livecolour alters the way the source colour are rendered on your tv so it must be switched off in anycase especially if you are using an HDR source that already make use of a wider colour gamut

I was messing around with my TV settings I saw something strange happening, I was wondering if this normal?

When I change my live colour from off,low or high I can see the box in the middle but if I change it to medium it disappears.

It seems medium setting seems to make my TV brighter. This is all tested in HDR on the PS4 pro, HDR calibration page

https://youtu.be/R8g4b0Mt0FE

Hi Haloharry97,

I've just had a look into the video and I guess this is related to the PS. Does this happen with any other devices?

Cheers,
The_Black_Rose

If it needs to be turned off for HDR then why does it not do that automatically?

It is not mandatory. If you like saturated and fake colour it is up to you enabling it. If you look at any serious review they turn off any electronic algorithm.

You have to enjoy it, so, correct or not, let it this way.

It is not known how the different option change the colour mapping but it is same if you try to use a professional colorimeter with this option enabled and try to calibrate the tv: it could not be done. So I assume hardly Sony will consider the effect you shown as a bug.

Same could be said if you try to set a simple setting like the luminance with the light sensor activated: it could not be done because the tv will adjust it independently of which other parameter you are setting..... Hope I clarified my opinion
