Tap to wake screen in sleep mode missing - Xperia 10 IV

Hi,

Like on almost every Andorid based phone there is usually a tap to wake screen function when the phone is in sleep mode. I could not find this feature on the Xperia 10IV. Currently it appears only by using the mechanical buttons, i.e. volume buttons and power button, it is possible. Just to check, is there a way to tap screen to wake screen whilst in sleep mode? I spoke to Sony Customer Services, the lady just advised to restart the phone and it should work, but it hasn't.

as far as i know , this feature has not been implemented in Xperia devices in a long time. I think the nearest thing we have is tap to show lock screen. 

settings>display> lock screen preferences

I have the 10 iv too and ive not come across this function. I agree it would be useful and I wish this phone had it, but i dont think it has the feature. I will follow this post though, in case you get a good answer!
